About
Hi all! I'm Ben. I'm a board-certified family medicine physician who's looking to help others achieve their full potentials.
I grew up in rural Indiana in a house surrounded by cornfields on all fo... ur sides. I went to a regional campus of Indiana University in my hometown. When my high school track coach found out I was attending college locally, he asked me to return as an assistant coach. Thus began my first mentorship role. I coached track & field every spring until I graduated college.
I worked full-time in college. In addition to coaching, I also tutored physics for the university, served tables, catered events, and worked as a medical scribe in the local emergency room. As part of my job as a scribe, I taught medical terminology and basics of diseases to others. While tutoring physics and teaching medical topics, I found a love for helping others to achieve what I had achieved.
Luckily I got into my most desired medical school on my first try. The only way to get through medical school is to employ every tip, tool, and technique to retain as much information as possible. And that's exactly what I did. I learned to reframe topics in ways that were easy to remember. When I got to residency, I used those skills to teach medical students and junior residents. In my final year of residency, I did a teaching elective. I am hoping to go into teaching medicine someday very soon!read more
