The literary world is a vast world of topics, themes, genres, and characters. Even the authors themselves are the subject of debate and exploration; as every human, like every story, has a story of it... s own. After 8 years as a Language Arts Educator, I moved on to working with students with profound disabilities. There I was able to share my love of literature in unique ways with students who needed to experience GREAT stories by GREAT storytellers, but with a different approach. It is my joy and passion to take students on the exciting, thoughtful, universe-expanding journey of exploring great literature. I'm a happy, humor loving educator who enjoys connecting with students. I started my 20 year career by teaching English and Reading to middle school students. I then moved on to teaching upper element... ary school grades. It was during that time that I made the transition to being a full time Special Education teacher. That experience was life changing, and truly transformed by teaching. It grew me into a more creative, compassionate, thoughtful educator, and allowed me to learn a host of new techniques to help students learn and thrive. When not spending time with my two daughters, I'm an avid baker and enjoy volunteering with local civic organizations. My superpower is making others smile.
