About
Hi! I'm Zhaklene, but most people call me Zhaka. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, went to high school in Manhattan, and now I'm pursuing my Biochem degree at Binghamton University.
I've ... been tutoring in Biology and Math for my entire high school career, so I'm going on 5 years of tutoring now! I love to tutor in subjects I'm both passionate about and articulate within, so while I am a language geek, I'm not sure if you'll ever see me breaking down proper punctuation. On the topic of language, my interest in it does define my tutoring philosophy even for STEM subjects. I believe that anyone can master any subject as long as they have access to the correct language, imagery, and resources that they can personally connect with. A lot of my methodology involves a lot of talking, not just from me as the tutor, but mainly on part of the student.
At the end of the day, my only job is to make sure that we both, as tutor and student, can understand a topic on the same terms, and that you can leave sessions with confidence in your knowledge.read more
