Understanding how the world around us works and the forces involved has always been my passion. I have established a robust conceptualization of the physics of interaction of bodies. This love for the... physical science has enabled me to pursue a Degree in Education, where I took Physics and Mathematics as my majors. I believe that developing a clear understanding of Physics is strongly dependent on mastering the foundations of this subject. With three years experience teaching this subject in Kenyan Secondary Schools, I am glad to say that every student has the ability to both master and excel in this subject. "Good fortune often happens when opportunity meets with preparation." Thomas Edison. Hi, I am Kimutai Victor. Allow me to tell you a short story. But first, lets talk about the background. I am K... enyan, from a small city called Kericho. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and I am currently enrolled for a Master's Program. In Kenya, there is one examination that is really important, The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). This exam decides which career path one takes and is often referred to even for employment. So for example, if you want to be an engineer, you MUST pass your Math, Sciences and English exams in KCSE and have at least a grade B. While in Form 1, I really disliked Mathematics. I had never been good at it and so I didn't really care putting any effort to it. So for our first exam, I scored an E. Mind you, this is the lowest grade possible, its an equivalent to "Fail". But at the end of Form 4, when I sat for my KCSE, I scored an A, which is the highest score. How then did I manage to make this? It boils down to one thing, PREPARATION. From failing basic arithmetic and algebra class, I rose to pursue a Degree in Mathematics and Physics, and graduated Magna cum Laude. I am now a certified Teacher in my country and everyday I get to see my students grasp the fundamental concepts of Mathematics and Physics. My teaching/tutoring philosophy is that: "No human being is unteachable, and Math is one of those subjects where the effort you put in can easily translate to results" Success is a product of preparation. And therefore using every tool at your disposal to improve is invaluable.
