Hi, my name is Deanna Munoz.

0:02

I am from right outside of Chicago.

0:04

I also lived in the Rio Grande Valley on the border of Texas

0:08

and Mexico for about 20 years.

0:10

And for the past five years, I have been living

0:12

and teaching in Keto Ecuador.

0:14

I am a teacher with 23 years of experience. It is my life.

0:18

It is my passion, it is my identity.

0:21

I have seen the difference that education can make in terms

0:24

of transforming lives, both within my own life

0:27

and within the life of my students.

0:28

And so I really want nothing more than to continue

0:31

to help people and accompany them along

0:33

their educational journey.

0:34

My degrees are in social studies, history, and sociology.

0:39

I also did master's level work in sociology

0:42

and history at the University of Texas, Pan-American,

0:45

which is now the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

0:48

I have been certified in more than five states

0:52

in the United States to teach.

0:53

I also have a temple certification as well

0:56

as an I-E-L-T-S certification,

0:58

and so I can offer classes in English language learning.

1:02

I can offer classes in academic writing

1:05

and in any of the classes

1:08

that would fall under the social studies disciplines.

1:10

I also am an SAT tutor.

1:12

I tutor for the SAT portion of the exam.

1:16

That is the writing and language exam.

1:18

Over the years, I've had the privilege

1:21

of teaching students from a wide variety of backgrounds.

1:23

I have taught the grandchildren of presidents,

1:26

but I've also taught the children of migrant farm workers.

1:29

I've had students from Syria, students from Ecuador,

1:32

students from Egypt, students from all over the world.

1:35

I've had students with all different kinds

1:38

of learning needs, be it students with a DD

1:40

or A DHD, students with dyslexia, students

1:43

with traumatic brain disorder.

1:44

The one thing that was most important about all

1:47

of these students, and

1:48

that I think is most important about any learner is

1:50

your desire to learn.

1:51

If you have the desire to learn, then I am here

1:55

to help provide you with the tools to accomplish your goals.

1:57

So that's a little bit about me

2:01

and I hope that I have the pleasure of meeting you

2:03

and getting to learn a little bit about you.

2:05

Thank you for watching. I.
