My deep appreciation of the power of a university education and my personal geeky love for taking tests has led me to become an SAT Writing and Language Tutor. Specifically, I focus my lessons on preparation for the online SAT, which has dramatically changed in comparison to the pen-and-paper version of the days of old.
Scoring within the 97th percentile range of test-takers, I am keenly aware of what skills are needed to perform well on this test. As such, my lessons focus on standard English grammar and punction, the proper use of transitions and conjunctions, subject and object pronouns, using words in context, cross-text connections, sentence structure, and text revision. Lessons are interactive as they are delivered through Quizizz to maximize student engagement, and lesson materials such as practice questions and readings come directly from the College Board. Students may choose to take the entire 10 class course sequence or may choose any of the topics offered in single classes to address their individual needs.
