Easily the most rewarding part of my job is being able to bring people to a common understanding. Sometimes that means explaining a very technical system to more business-oriented teammates, and sometimes it means walking through those terrible moments of, "hey why won't this compile?" In my opinion, a lot of the existing teaching methodology for software development is on the sloppy side – frequently under-explained or leaning too much into theory instead of the practical realities of the job, and rarely teaching actual solid ways to make your code make sense.
