About
Hi, I'm Rufaydah, currently living in Maine. I was born in Nigeria and spent 12 years in South Africa. This fall, I'll be starting my freshman year at the University of Maine, majoring in Biomedical E... ngineering and Biomedical Sciences.
I have a diverse range of hobbies and passions, including baking, writing, reading, strength training, and watching K-dramas with my sister. Throughout my high school career, I consistently achieved the highest math scores in my class, despite initially struggling in the subject. These challenges introduced me to various effective techniques for studying and learning math, which I now use to help my students excel in math and other STEM subjects.
My personal struggles with math have made me more understanding and empathetic towards my students, enhancing my effectiveness as a tutor. I have experience tutoring students in grades 8-10 in STEM subjects, using a variety of methods tailored to each student's unique needs. One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring for me is witnessing the moment when everything clicks for my students and seeing the pride they feel when they solve a problem on their own. It's incredibly fulfilling to be part of their learning journey.
My tutoring philosophy centers on the belief that every student is unique and has their own learning style. To truly help a student, it's essential to assist them in discovering how they learn best and to support them in continuously improving their skills. Despite being quite reserved, I have realized that I love teaching and excel at presenting information in a way that makes sense to my students. This unique combination makes me a patient and empathetic tutor, dedicated to helping each student achieve their goals.
I can't wait to start learning with you!read more
