Hello. Hello, uh, my name's Reed. I'm a junior at McAllister College,

0:06

uh, in Minnesota in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

0:11

Uh, I'm studying physics and I'm also learning Chinese language right now.

0:16

I've got tons of hobbies I, you can see back there.

0:19

I love to draw and paint and I've done theater all my life and,

0:24

and everything.

0:25

So basically I'm interested in anything so I can talk about almost anything.

0:29

But right here, uh, I'm here to teach math. Um,

0:34

I can do anything from basic math to algebra,

0:40

trigonometry up all the way up to calculus. Um, again,

0:45

I use math every day in my academic life. Physics kind of requires it,

0:49

so I'm sort of fluent in math, so to speak.

0:52

And then working with, with kids, I've,

0:56

I've done summer camps and so I've worked with kids all the way up from six

1:01

years old all the way up through high school. So, um,

1:05

as far as teaching, uh,

1:08

I myself have been tutored and re tutored countless times over my

1:12

academic career. So I really know what works and I,

1:17

I know what doesn't work. Um, with math,

1:21

having a firm grasp over the mathematical concept is

1:26

often it's about knowing how you got the answer more than just knowing what the

1:30

answer is. Uh, I've found,

1:33

I've found that when somebody just will tell me the answer,

1:37

it almost is never helpful. Um,

1:40

it's more about knowing the steps to get there.

1:44

So, and also I also know that math is really, really hard. Um, it,

1:49

it's hard all the way up through college and it doesn't get easier.

1:54

So, but what makes it easier is asking questions.

1:57

So I always think any question is on the table. You know,

2:02

sometimes you can work at something for a long, long time, and, but you,

2:06

you just need one question to be answered and then you've got it,

2:09

and then you can go forward. So if I, what I teach,

2:14

um, just any questions, asking questions,

2:17

I think it's important to have a good space for questions.

2:21

So I'm really looking forward to getting into it. Um,

2:26

feel free to message me and we could work something out,

2:30

see what I could do for you and, um, I'll see you then. Bye.
