Hi! My name is Cheng, but I go by Rea. I'm an LA native, Bay Area Transplant, who is currently back to LA to spend more time with family after a long period of working intensely in industry. I excel a... t leading teams and understanding what each individual needs and can contribute. In my spare time, I mentored underrepresented groups (eg. femme, latinx, low-income) in engineering, design, product development, and founding companies. I was a tutor in grade school, and enjoyed the experience so much that I'd like to do it now full time. I particularly like the feeling of helping each student realize their potential, and discover their interest and spark. I believe each student has potential in each subject, and that learning can be intriguing and rewarding in the hands of the right mentor. I love reading personal essays, and helping them crystallize the unique person that the essay showcases. I also understand the importance of testing highly for the college application process. I was a nervous tester, so it's extra important to build up confidence and snap decision making, to test with strategy and wit. Additionally, I coach on how to round out the college resume with extracurriculars and build a proper story through the application process.read more
