TLDR - don't waste your precious time going solo or with subpar tutors. Schedule with Dave ASAP before his schedule fills up. I was at an elite school and had stumbled through Orgo I with a B. In Orgo II, I began imploding because my fundamental knowledge was weak. I tried three tutors before finding Dave. He is a scientist and an academic. Before our sessions, Dave would scrutinize my materials and then teach accordingly, ensuring high yield in my syntheses and preventing me from making mistakes. I was on the path to dropping, which would have set e back at least a year towards applying to medical school. Instead, Dave rescued mefrom a W to a B+, and I'm convinced I'd have gotten all A's had I initially started with him. Dave is super kind and patient; consider yourself lucky to have him in your corner.
