Enhanced Honors Bachelor's student in Psychology, proficient in English, Writing and Grammar

I have always been avid in english and grammar, a passion ignited in me since before elementary school. Following that passion, throughout grade school, I have consistently competed in literary anthology competitions, ranging from poetry, non-fiction, fiction and more. I had the honor to place in all the categories I entered within those competitions. Through middle and high school, my proficiency in academic writing and grammar became not useful to only me, but the peers around me. Teachers then were able to distinguish my voice and distinct skills, furthering my passions for my craft. I have even tutored children in these subjects, as I myself was still in High School. In high school, I was editor of our yearbook that gained recognition in my region. I have published work such as articles and reports found in the yearbook. I did this for three, amazing years. Furthering my writing sphere, I was also a ghostwriter for two years, working with a publishing company that produced a plethora of imaginative projects full of meaningful emotion and connection. Even to this day, I help and edit my peer's essays, I figured, I could help so many more people too. I would love to help you find your writer's voice and become confident in english and writing skills! My goal is to assist students, not only academic writing, english and grammar, but to foster confidence and accomplishments in their future endeavors.

Honors College Graduate in History & Anthropology with Minor in Religious Studies

I have always been extremely passionate about History. It was always my favorite and best subject in school. My passions and interest in History started with being obsessed with Texas history, then after a visit to my local Holocaust Museum in 6th grade, WWII became my focus. Ever since then, I have explored all aspects and eras of history and eventually decided to major in History and Anthropology at New Mexico State University, graduating with Honors from the Conroy Honors College. I also have a minor in Religious Studies. While at NMSU, I found a new interest and passion in European History and specifically the events that unfolded surrounding WWI. I have taken dozens of classes that focus on all different areas of history, from U.S. History to European History and everywhere in-between. I found my interest in European History lies in the history of England, which translates to most of European History. I have focused on the events of Tudor England, Rome and Greece, the various Plagues and of course the World Wars. I did my Honors undergraduate project and "mini-thesis" on WWI and conducted research at the National World War I Museum in Kansas City. I was a member of our Historical Honor Society on campus as well as the Vice President of the Anthropological Undergraduate Organization. I recently (May-June 2023) took a Grand Tour of Europe to really get a feel for the history that I have always been passionate about. I was able to see some of the greatest historical buildings and cities of Europe, exploring the Tower of London to the Catacombs in Paris and the Colosseum in Rome. At NMSU, I also helped organize study groups and tutor fellow students that struggled in history. I am a visual learner and extremely detail oriented, which helps me cover all my bases when teaching or learning a subject. I love finding new and interesting ways to share my passion and love for all things History related and helping students enjoy learning about the past

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Member-Scholarship Recipient-Experienced Remote Essay Writing Tutor

Essay Writing is a skill that every student must become familiar with for their academic careers. It also presents them with the opportunity to form valuable skills to carry forward in their lives. In addition to that importance, writing essays is fun! It enables a student to express their creativity and develop their unique voice. As a college student, I often write essays however, I also do so for fun as a creative outlet. My love of writing and genuine passion for the subject, helped me to succeed in tutoring middle school, high school and college students while working for Varsity Tutors. These one-on-one sessions would at times continue beyond one assignment and we would meet for several months to not only strengthen their writing but also increase confidence and overall academic success. While tutoring on the Paper Tutors platform, I assisted students on a chat basis when they were facing an issue while writing their essays. Using empathy and understanding helped these students to benefit from learning critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as improving their understanding of their assignments and course materials. On that platform, I would proofread essays written by students of all ages and provide them with personalized feedback. When working with a student on Essay Writing, we will use goal setting and planning to develop the best strategy for improvement based on their unique learning style. I will also do my best to help them to enjoy the process and find the fun in it. Beyond conquering any issues such as writer's block, essay structure and organization or forming a thesis, we will also improve skills that will be beneficial beyond the immediate assignment. Skills such as time management, academic research, editing and developing ideas are not only valuable parts of essay writing but important to academic success as a whole.

Video editing/Digital storytelling Coach (Also available for Math!)

I have been producing videos for over 10 years using a variety of software products including iMovie, Final Cut X, and Adobe Premier Pro. My mother is a professional, award winning, documentary filmmaker, so I have been exposed to her work, and learned much of her knowledge about what it takes to be a successful video producer. My professional experience in video production includes: - Working remotely for a non-profit foundation based out of Boston that serves minority business owners. My role was to make short form documentary style videos about their story. - Working remotely for a marketing agency producing social media videos for a variety of clients about a variety of products and subjects. My expertise includes the technical and software side of video production as well as the digital storytelling and creative side of video production. I understand how to shoot video for editing and artistically, how to organize footage in the software, and finally, how to edit a compelling output from the footage, including selecting, trimming, and cropping clips, cutting and syncing video and audio (music, narrative, and natural sound), implementing transitions, color correction and filters, sound correction, working with and downloading titles and generators, and how to animate your own images in Final Cut Pro. Video production and editing is a creative process, you never know what to expect when you’re making a video, sometimes there might be surprises and I’m excited about the possibility of guiding other fellow editors along the way.

College Writing Tutor with specialty in Film and Media analysis.

I recently graduated from Manhattanville College with a BA in Communications and Media and a minor in Film. Starting my sophomore year in 2020, I began an internship with the writing center on campus and was learning tutoring pedagogy so that I could work in the writing center as a tutor myself. That next semester, I held a paid position as a Peer Writing Tutor until my graduation this May (2023). Over my time as a tutor, I assisted students generally in a virtual one-on-one environment. These students were mostly early undergrads, but I received a number of graduate students to tutor as well. I also occasionally would assist students asynchronously, providing them with email feedback after editing and commenting inside the document. The experience I had as a tutor was flexible and allowed me to work with the students solely with the goal of helping them improve their understanding of the material. It was invaluable to me in the development of my own learning as well! I also volunteered at a number of different educational programs across Westchester, NY as a tutor during my time in college. These students were anywhere from ages elementary to high school to college. Some workshops were also held for special needs students in particular. These were wider classroom experiences, with the number of students being around 15-20. These experiences were more about managing the class and students to understand one lesson rather than working to enhance one student's learning.

UWC Student

Being an IB student at a United World College, I possess a strong academic foundation in Mathematics, with a predicted score of 7 in the IB examination. As a student who is currently immersed in the same curriculum, I understand the challenges that students may face, making me well-equipped to provide targeted assistance. Having experienced the difficulties of comprehending complex concepts myself, I recognized the value of having a tutor who not only possesses the knowledge but also understands the unique needs and perspectives of students. This insight motivated me to start tutoring my classmates over the past three months, during which I discovered a knack for simplifying and explaining intricate mathematical concepts in a way that resonates with my peers. Choosing me as a Mathematics tutor offers students the advantage of learning from someone close to their age who can empathize with their struggles and provide tailored support. My recent experience as a tutor has honed my ability to adapt to different teaching and learning styles, ensuring that I can customize my approach to meet the individual needs of each student. I invite you to give my tutoring approach a try and see firsthand if my method resonates with your learning style. My goal is to not only help you grasp challenging mathematical concepts but also to instill confidence and a genuine enjoyment of the subject. I look forward to the opportunity to assist you on your mathematical journey
