I have taken honors and AP math courses throughout high school, and now, as a junior in college studying biochemistry, math is a core part of my major. Hi Beautiful People! My name is Amy Dupont. Growing up with younger siblings, I always enjoyed helping out with subjects that they needed extra guidance on. Yet, I also realized early on that teaching... is rarely personalized in schools. Often my younger brother would express his frustration with not understanding his course work in classes. This caused him to doubt his intellectual abilities, and overall aptitude as a student. However, my brother was extremely bright, he just needed a more personalized learning strategy to understand the information he was presented. When I took up tutoring as a part-time job in high school, I wanted to put forth the philosophy I practiced when teaching my younger siblings. This philosophy, was that every child, no matter the learning difficulties, has the ability to learn and progress if given the strategies and encouragement to do so. No student should ever feel inapt or discouraged simply for not learning the same as their peers. I teach in a personalized manner, and am constantly coming up with new ways to present information.
