Hello! My name is Emma, and I grew up in a small town near Sacramento, California. I attended college close to home (I am a proud Chico State Wildcat!) to pursue a degree in History with the option ... in Social Science Pre-Credential. After living within 2 hours of home for my entire life, I decided to move halfway across the globe and currently teach English in a small pueblo in Spain. Throughout college, I tutored students of all grade levels. Outside of running my own one-on-one tutoring sessions, I also worked in a tutoring center for K-12 students and as a Supplemental Instruction leader for a United States History course at my university. Here, I gained experience with creating unique and engaging online activities for US History. The most important aspect of my sessions, however, wasn't strictly looking at the course material. I focused on doing so in a way that equipped each of my students with transferable study skills that they could apply to improve their grades even when I wasn't there. While I loved tutoring students for multiple years and watching them grow, I was equally happy to see my students improve over the course of a semester and leave with transferable knowledge of what studying methods work best for them.
