I am a writer, and love teaching others to write as well. Many students come to me with comments such as, “I hate writing”, or “Writing is hard”, or “ I don’t know what to write”.. I love to help st... udents grow as writers, and even learn to love writing. Often their comments will change to, “I love writing”, Writing is fun”, and “This isn’t so hard anymore”. I know writing is often a vulnerable process, so I work hard to provide a safe space. I will target the lessons to the student's unique needs and learning style, and help them learn the tools, skills and strategies that they need to become more competent, creative writers. read more

I have 19 years of experience as a certified school teacher and tutor, and have worked with children from preschool through 8th grade. I am passionate about helping children learn, grow and discover n... ew ideas, in creative, engaging ways. I was born in Africa (Swaziland), and although my family returned to the U.S. when I was young, I spent some time in south and west Africa in my early adult life, including teaching in village schools and International schools. I am currently home-educating my 10-year old daughter. We live on a 4-acre homestead, where I love growing herbs and vegetables, and helping my daughter with her many animals.read more
