Hi! My name is Jada. I'm a recent graduate from MSU Denver with a degree in Biology and a minor in anthropology. I'm very passionate about science communication and STEM accessibility. I work with MSU... Denver right now as an Industry Navigator for Bioscience, Agricultural and Food helping students connect with Bioscience opportunities, internships and preparing them for a career in the STEM field. I love my job but I would also like to make a lasting impact on younger generations as well and get younger students more excited about sciences. Biology and chemistry can be confusing and intimidating for younger students because of terminology and disconnect between theories and real-world applications. I'd love to help bridge those gaps for students and encourage them to see that science is more than just words, theories and equations. Science is magic in real life and that is inspiring! My hobbies outside of work still involve the sciences, I love being outdoors, kayaking, hiking and doing plant identification. I love gardening, reading science fiction and making scientific art. On that note, I just want to say that incorporating art into science is very important because of how many of us are visual learners. We want to walk away from learning with a deeper understanding of the information, not just memorization and a big part of accomplishing this can be done through visuals and explaining scenarios in which science is being used practically, right around us.
