Hello everybody.

0:02

I apologize for the angle.

0:03

I'm current, currently sitting on my bed. Okay.

0:06

Um, I wanted to make this quick introduction video

0:09

and um, really tell you a little bit about myself.

0:13

Um, kind of my philosophy with teaching, my experience

0:17

with teaching, and kind of I guess my plans.

0:20

If there's time, I do tend to talk a lot. Um, okay.

0:23

So, hello, my name is Elena.

0:25

I am a second year student at LSU.

0:27

Um, I'm a graduate teaching assistant

0:30

and I also am studying piano pedagogy.

0:32

Um, what that basically means is that I'm learning how

0:36

to teach, and more specifically, I'm learning

0:38

how to teach piano.

0:39

So I've been in the music world for a really long time.

0:42

Um, and I actually studied music for my bachelor's degree.

0:46

So I have a lot of experience learning about things like

0:49

music history, music theory skills, anything

0:51

that encompasses a, uh, a music degree.

0:55

I have learned it. Um,

0:57

and now in my master's degree I'm learning a lot about

0:60

teaching methods, strategies, approaches, um,

1:03

different types of learners

1:05

and really how I could be the most effective in my teaching

1:08

in both private setting and also a group setting.

1:10

Um, some of my core values are community building, um,

1:15

collaboration and really

1:19

having an open environment for learning.

1:22

Um, I'm a teacher, but first and foremost I'm a student.

1:26

I'm always going to learn and I love to learn

1:28

and I think that it's important for me to be upfront

1:30

with the fact that, you know, I'm learning there are gonna

1:32

be things that we're going to work through, um,

1:35

with the students that I teach

1:37

because I'm always going to be a student first.

1:41

Um, but with that being said,

1:44

I do have experience teaching both in private

1:46

and group setting from students as young as five

1:49

to their mid thirties in both a private setting

1:52

and a group setting.

1:53

And, um, I have experience teaching beginner level

1:58

to like early advanced.

1:60

Most of my experience comes from teaching

2:03

like really beginner level students at a college level, um,

2:07

specifically with piano, but a lot of them have, um,

2:12

I've helped a lot of students with music theory concepts,

2:15

so composition, um, improvisation, music theory,

2:20

harmonization, um,

2:22

really learning the fundamentals of music and piano.

2:27

That's kind of my specialty right now.

2:29

Um, but anyway, that was kind of a lot,

2:32

but I hope that that kind of gives you a little bit

2:36

of a more insight of who I am, what I'm about.

2:38

And, um, if you have,

2:42

sorry, my phone's about to die.

2:44

If you have any questions, feel free, free to email me.

2:46

We can schedule a free trial lesson, um,

2:48

outside of Lesson Pal.

2:50

Um, and I'm really glad and hopeful

2:53

and excited to meet everybody.

2:54

Alright, bye.
