I graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering. My line of work was in data processing which requ... ires analysis, logical reasoning, and systematic methodology -- attributes I acquired and learned from Mathematics. I excelled and had high grades in Algebra and Trigonometry, and I usually got exempted from getting the final exams on Math and Science subjects. Apart from my regular secular work, I was tutoring on the side since 1995 with students from prestigious schools and universities here in the Philippines such as the University of the Philippines, Quezon City Science High School, St. Scholastica, and Don Bosco among others. Most of my students were scholars and had to maintain their high grades. With pride and honor, I was able to help them maintain to be on top of their class until they graduated. I am fond of teaching and imparting techniques to my students so they can appreciate more the importance of Math in their lives. We usually hear people say, “Math is hard!”. Hi, I am Eileen from the Philippines. I am always up for a challenge and love solving problems and analysis. Watching TV series like Criminal Minds and CSI makes me feel relaxed and invigorated – solv... ing and analyzing stimulate my brain. In a similar manner, I don’t easily give up when solving a certain math problem, I won’t stop until I get it right. I prefer one-on-one tutoring to group study. I find it more enjoyable and fulfilling knowing that I have given all the help and assistance that a student cannot get from a classroom. He/she can freely ask and state what he/she doesn’t know and what confuses him/her without any fear of feeling embarrassed. As a tutor, it is my responsibility to find ways to make sure that the subject can be easily understood based on my student’s capacity. Also, practical application is always considered as it can probably contribute to further understanding of the concept. I also believe that learning is a two-way process.
