I have 7 years of Guitar playing experience. In my first year, I was fortunate to have an instructor who really helped me with the basics and was there to answer my many questions about music. He taug... ht me technique and theory, and kept me accountable in my practicing. I'm very grateful for this relationship and for the path he helped set for me, and I hope to do what he did for me for other musicians. In all the years since, I have been learning from the best instructors on YouTube, and have become comfortable with many different playing styles: Acoustic & Electric, fingerpicking, blues, rock, Jazz and fusion. I also have experience in improvisation and song writing/producing. I have two years of band playing experience in a competitive music scene. During these past two years, I have learned so much about playing with others and communicating with others about music. Playing in a band has given me firsthand experience in many aspects of guitar playing - stage presence and confidence , gear and tone control, and booking and networking. My name is Carter and my passion is writing. Have you ever looked at a sentence and wondered what makes it beautiful? Or have you grown up with a story that you never get tired of hearing, reading, ... watching, and wondered - why doesn't it ever get old? My interest in writing sprung from these questions, and my goal in life is to help others grapple with them. My favorite writers are George Orwell and JRR Tolkien - Orwell for the beautiful sentences and Tolkien for the stories I never get tired of. Although I have a vested interest in multiple disciplines, English and Philosophy are my areas of expertise. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on creative writing from Appalachian State University. My current profession centers around freelance content creation for various brands, but my true passion lies in crafting blogs, essays, and, most importantly, stories. My dream is to write novels and screenplays full-time. My Method: Learning to write effectively is synonymous with learning how to think critically. Sound thinking is a fundamental skill applicable across all aspects of life, empowering individuals to make better decisions. My primary goal is to facilitate a space where students can learn to articulate their thoughts clearly and coherently in writing.
