About
Hey y'all! My name is Nolan, and I am a native to Rhode Island. I've always enjoyed programming, as well as teaching others new skills that will better them for the rest of their lives.
I specialize ... in Java, but have sufficient experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and C#. I really enjoy working through a problem and developing a solution for it. Programming shouldn't be painful or boring. Programming requires understanding the basis of it all, and without understanding the basics, the rest of it can become quite irritating. That's where I come in. I want to teach people from the ground up, making sure the foundation is solid before building upon it.
I am also neurodivergent. I can completely understand that everyone learns differently, and it's my goal to help find the perfect learning style for each of my students. Understanding my own difficulties in learning environments helps me prepare content that is easy to digest for students.
I am an Eagle Scout. I was in the Boy Scout program from 4th grade through senior year of High School and gained valuable experience in teaching and guiding peers through challenges and conflicts.
Outside of tutoring, I am currently going to school in pursuit of my bachelor's degree in computer science. Outside of school, I love doing hobby programming projects and repairing electronics and things around the house. I love working with my hands and creating things that will have a lasting impact.read more
