About
I currently live in Cary, North Carolina where I'm finishing up my Master's degree in computer science at Virginia Tech while working full time as a cybersecurity engineer. I'm an avid hobbyist who en... joys activities like playing Pokemon and Magic the Gathering, getting into real estate investing, weight lifting, 3D printing, and tinkering with new technology.
What I love about tutoring is being able to help students overcome those a-ha moments when a tricky concept finally clicks. I tutored fellow college students in subjects like programming and calculus during my undergrad years at Arizona State University. It was extremely rewarding seeing that spark of understanding light up in their eyes. I'm patient and enjoy breaking down complex topics into digestible chunks tailored to each learner's needs.
My philosophy is that anyone can master a subject with the right support and approach. I take pride in assessing my student's strengths and weaknesses to figure out the best way for them to comprehend the material. Experimenting with different teaching methods until I find what works is crucial. Building confidence through hands-on application is key as well. Overall, I aim to fuel a curiosity and passion for learning in my students.
When I'm not studying, working, or tutoring, you can find me battling online in Pokemon tournaments, catching up on the latest Magic card sets, reading real estate investing books, hitting the gym, or starting my latest 3D printing project. The joy of learning and sharing knowledge drives me as a tutor and permeates my hobbies as well. I look forward to applying my experience and passions to help motivate students achieve their academic goals.read more
