Hi, my name is Andrew and I'm a fiction graduate at S I U Carbondale.

0:04

I got my undergraduate degree in English literacy,

0:07

and I truly believe in the power of words,

0:10

and I hope through my classes that the students will understand how to manifest

0:15

their thoughts and put them onto the page in an articulate and effective manner,

0:19

no matter the subject material. Now, I am an expert creative writer,

0:23

so those classes are a bit more pricey. I have written countless feature films,

0:27

short films, TV shows. I've gotten feedback from, you know,

0:30

Netflix professionals and executives.

0:32

I've taken courses and have experience in talking to executives, writers,

0:37

actors, directors, agents, managers, all of that.

0:41

And I've done fairly well. I'm young,

0:43

but I am on my way to doing good things in that field, um,

0:46

as well as music composition.

0:47

So any of those things I think would be very valuable for anyone who wants to be

0:51

an artist at any age. I've taught middle schoolers to PhD candidates, um,

0:55

as far as essays and my English literacy goes, I'm very good at that too.

0:59

I have dyslexia and a d d and it, you know,

1:02

almost crippled me throughout high school until I was really able to identify

1:05

those issues. But once I did, you know, I,

1:07

I started focusing on them and understanding why they were happening when they

1:11

were happening and how to get past 'em, because that's ultimately the goal,

1:14

right?

1:14

So what I can do now is essentially articulate to anybody what they're thinking

1:19

in a way that makes sense to them. So the,

1:22

the barrier between what you're thinking and what you're trying to say and what

1:26

you are able to write is what I focus on. And I, and I,

1:29

and I get a good grasp on what you're saying at any given moment.

1:32

And I help you understand what the prompt and source material are telling you to

1:37

do. And I think that is a very valuable skill. And once you have it,

1:40

you can go on to, you know,

1:42

fight the battles that you may need to fight later in life. Um,

1:45

so I truly do believe that by the end of the course,

1:47

you will love writing more than you ever have.

1:49

You will understand it's important. So, you know,

1:51

what I urge you to do is reach out to me. Um,

1:53

my first sessions are fairly cheap, excited to get to know you guys and, um,

1:57

yes, have a good day.
