As a recent University of Cincinnati graduate, I have acquired a Bachelor's in English, and am currently acquiring a Certificate in Copyediting and Publishing. Outside of my academic courses, I have h... osted and attended countless writers workshops and have been editing for local writers, businesses, and colleagues for years. I am also immensely excited about the next generation of students and writers, and I want to support them and help them craft the best essays possible, in order to get them on track to go to their dream universities. My name is Ani, I am currently living in Cincinnati with my dog Alua. I am a poet, and have a chapbook titled Iris, which will be available on October 24th! I enjoy hiking, exploring bookstores and co... ffee shops, and hosting events for my community. As far as tutoring goes, I've held many similar roles. I was a dance teacher, a portrait advisor in my photography courses, and host of many writers' workshops. As someone who has done the whole college essay process and felt the pressure of writing a story that would be "good enough" for admissions, I want to now support students in that journey. It can feel very intimidating, but my goal is to remind students that they are telling a story, they are sharing a part of who they are, and it should be enjoyable. As a professional editor, I know the strict lines around grammar, punctuation, and stylistic choices. As a creative writer, I know what it looks and feels like to put your heart into something, and to write something that can feel like it belongs to you too, not just to an admission's office.
