UC Student Mentor

At a young age I was passionate with learning about films and hoping that one day I will able to crate my own film. I have had a chance to take many film classes going from middle school to high school even up until my college years. I've written my own screenplays during the pandemic and I've helped many screenwriters when going through their own scripts even getting a chance to act in a short film. I always love to read scripts and imagine that I'm watching the movie a person is pursuing to create. It's important to always remember that your scenes in the script should never be first person. But I'm always passionate with showing a different perspective of films and show people a new view of them even if they don't like the specific film. When it comes to Math I loved learning about the subject at a young age and I still enjoy learning new different techniques of Math, although I may get rusty at times. I excelled at Math during my high school years. In the beginning I wasn't the best, but I learned to teach myself many different techniques and took multiple notes for many of the lessons I learned from the textbook and lectures. I managed to do very well in my honors and IB Math classes during high school, while still learning to teach myself Calculus. History will always have a soft spot for me when it comes to learning another subject ever since I was young especially coming from a family that is devoted with history and politics. Many of my history teachers loved how I would use personal events and connect modern events happening today with the past that would make my own papers seem personal. I always encourage people to make their history papers their own instead of making it feel like the teacher is reading a Wikipedia article. I have excelled in many of my honors and IB history classes during my high school years and I have gone through most of the Ancient World history all the way up to American history and politics.

Recent graduate from CSULB BCCM with a Bachelor's in Music Composition.

I have been studying music for most of my life. I started by playing the violin in elementary school. Also, the school would introduce music to classrooms by teaching the classes songs and having the classes perform these songs. I enjoyed my experience with music in elementary school, and it encouraged me to keep playing violin in middle school and high school. I decided I wanted to pursue a career involving music. I decided to go to Long Beach City College to Major in music in the hopes of becoming a music therapist. I took theory, musicianship, history, performance classes and private lessons during my time at LBCC. I then transferred to California State University, Long Beach in 2021, and received a Bachelor's in Music Composition. At CSULB, I took advanced music theory and history courses, orchestration, media scoring, performance ensembles, and violin and composition lessons. As a General Music instructor, I want to explain the different instruments of the orchestra, instruments in pop music, brief music history, how to read music, and music cultures. I am also open to explaining and discussing anything music related my students want to discuss, and can hopefully answer any questions they have always been confused about. I want my students to have fun during class and appreciate music even more after coming out of my lessons. I can also tutor for any non-music major music class in high school or college.

Experienced Highschool Tutor Specializing in Calculus & Algebra

As a current Master's student at University of California, Riverside, I am studying computer engineering, with a special focus on machine learning and data science. Prior to this, I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Silchar, India. Throughout my academic journey, I have sharpened my proficiency in mathematics, various programming languages and statistical tools, and have also acquired Machine Learning and Deep Learning expertise. My passion for teaching sparked during my undergraduate studies when I volunteered to tutor mathematics and statistics to high school students in nearby villages from underprivileged backgrounds. I found immense joy in helping them navigate through the complexities of mathematics and have since then been drawn to teaching. Today, as an international student in the U.S., I am eager to extend this passion by empowering high school students. Also here at UC Riverside, I am part of a program called GradQuant where I provide consultation to graduate students regarding their queries about mathematics and computer science topics. My approach to tutoring is deeply influenced by the Feynman Technique which is all about simplifying complex ideas and ensuring true comprehension, not just memorization. I believe in breaking each concept down to its basic core and then building upon it. I also find great value in using visual aids and real-life examples to make abstract mathematical concepts more concrete and relatable. My ultimate goal is not just to tutor, but to instill a love of learning and help students see the beauty and applicability of math, statistics, and computer science in the world around them. I look forward to being a part of your academic journey and guiding you to success.

Special Education Tutor

I encompass a growth mindset, I am self-motivated, and am consistently committed to enhancing my practice as an educator. As a graduate from Chapman University's masters program in Special education, I have extensive knowledge, taking rigorous courses such as Teaching English Language Learners, Literacy & Pedagogy tutoring a 4th grade student through Chapman's literacy program through the Kathleen Muth Center, and administering assessments. Also, I have extensive experience creating curriculum and teaching students with autism about appropriate social skills. Additionally, I have experience working as an educational specialist intern and through student teaching. In the past years, I have worked as a full-time education specialist at an independent study high school for students who are completing or making up credits to receive their high school diploma. My passion and devotion for teaching and helping those with special needs comes instinctually and fills my heart with joy. I have a strong commitment to diversity and ensure that all my students are given equal opportunities. In my classroom, I take pride in using a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework, implementing the strategies and principles when teaching my lessons. The design of instructional goals I create for my students, the methods, the assessments, and the resources and materials are customized and differentiated to meet each students individualistic needs. By following a UDL framework and fostering a growth mindset for myself and my students, my classroom is an environment where differences are embraced, every student is encouraged to be themselves, and equal opportunities are given to all. I strongly believe in breaking down the barriers (both physical and mental) that often discourage or prohibit others from learning and growing to the best of their individualistic abilities in the educational setting.
