Andrew HooperChiang Mai, Pho Chai District, Roi Et, ThailandI am a wanderer with a pen, a director with a soundtrack, and a storyteller with a camera.
I have spent over two decades weaving narratives on screen; as a writer, and director, with a soul steeped in film and music. I am a wanderer with a pen, a director with a soundtrack, and a storyteller with a camera.
I've made 250+ music videos, short films, and commercials. I've had videos played in film festivals all over the world, and many have been released on major websites such as Rolling Stone, BrooklynVegan, SPIN, and more.
In college, I won an Award of Distinction for my work on a Cyberbullying PSA, and also earned an Exemplary Achievement in Film Studies in 2013. My college also had me back years later to do a guest lecture on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and The Thing (1982).
I was homeschooled throughout high school, which is when I gravitated towards Film, and have since gone on to watch over 3,350 films (as per my Letterboxd that is). Some of my favorites are: Magnolia, Dawn of the Dead (1978), Mood Indigo, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Sorry to Bother You, The Thing, Cinema Paradiso, Labyrinth, Ghost World, La Jette, Phantom of the Paradise, Hausu, The Monkees: Head, Sister Streetfighter, Paprika-- you get the point!
I am here to share my passion and knowledge of Film, and help you learn about Film History, Film Production, Film Theory, and everything in between.
