I am a National Board Certified Art Educator with 22 years of experience teaching art to middle and elementary grades. My accomplishments include designing engaging and challenging curricula for both virtual and in-person students, integrating art history and cross-curricular content into scaffolded lessons, developing strategies to create an inclusive environment based on respect for diversity and equity, maintaining a high level of technology proficiency to benefit learning outcomes, skillfully utilizing written and verbal communication to establish positive and productive relationships, creating presentations in both slide and video formats, and strategically planning formal and informal assessments.
I have instructed hundreds of students in the use of a multitude of art media and techniques, including pencil drawing, painting (acrylic and watercolor), printmaking, collage, ceramic hand-building, chalk pastels, oil pastels, pen and ink, and photography.
