From a young age, I have always been passionate about Filipino language. It was my favorite subject all through middle and high school. I love reading books, analyzing literature, writing poems and short stories, and crafting argumentative speeches.
I also participated extensively in student journalism. I spent many hours writing articles, conducting interviews, and copy-editing for the print newspaper.
As a native (or fluent) Tagalog speaker, I bring firsthand experience of the language, including its nuances, idiomatic expressions, and cultural significance. I’ve also spent time studying how to teach languages effectively, which means I know how to simplify complex grammar rules and help students progress step by step.
What sets me apart is my ability to tailor lessons based on the student’s goals. Whether they want to master conversational Tagalog for travel, improve their grammar for academic purposes, or connect with family and heritage, I design lessons that align with their needs.
Additionally, I ensure my classes are engaging and interactive, combining practical conversations, fun exercises, and insights into Filipino culture. My students gain confidence quickly because I emphasize real-life applications of the language while providing constant encouragement and feedback.
