Ellen SoykaIndianapolis, INLet's make essay writing, Spanish grammar, and college classes easier! Top-rated teacher & MA grad
During my degree in International Studies, I minored in Spanish, which included classes on literature, linguistics, poetry, and other courses taught completely in Spanish. In high school, I was one of two students on the double-accelerated track for Spanish classes, taking AP Spanish my junior year (and receiving a 5 on the exam) and doing an independent study in Spanish Literature my senior year.
I've tutored students in Spanish grammar, Spanish writing, and the cultural components of Spanish classes (like listening to music or learning about country-specific phrases and events) for about ten years, both in-person and virtually.
I make sure to use my Spanish skills consistently: reading the news, listening to music and podcasts, testing myself in Duolingo, and chatting with my neighbors. Professionally, I've translated legal documents, social services FAQs, social science research reports, personal statements, and conversations between attorneys and clients.
