Small steps, huge impact! Let's work together to achieve your goals. You CAN do this!

I have had experience in music performance since the age of 6, but began studying to pursue a professional career in 2011. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Music and am currently finishing up my Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Kentucky. My passion for the art of teaching, years of study, and performance experience allows me to be a knowledgable and empathetic voice teacher. In order to effectively learn, it is important to be able to determine each individual students learning style and interests so that I can effectively help them grow. I have expertise in working with students from kindergarten to collegiate level. I also work with students who are in need of accommodations. I have techniques for EVERY learners level of ability. I am a teacher who is passionate, relatable, empathetic, growth-minded, innovative, and fun! I can't wait to work with and explore music and the voice with learners at each level. Some of my notable performances have been with Opera Omaha, Kentucky Opera, and Berlin Opera Academy. In addition to performing, I have a background in education, having taught for three years in the public school system before returning to graduate school. I regularly draw upon my combined experiences in education, performance, and international travel to curate recitals and workshops to help bring healing, understanding, and connectivity to communities through the arts.

Your new confidence mentor for anything acting, writing, and singing

My introduction to music started very young when I first learned how to play violin. I started reading music at the age of 8 and continued playing all the way into college. I picked up singing initially in Middle School and started doing Musical Theater in high school. Eventually, I decided to pursue performance as a career. I have completed two degrees in performance. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Theater where I completed the Performance Trak as well as the Stage Management Track at my undergrad, Wesleyan College. I have a Master of Fine Arts in Performing Arts from The Savannah College of Art and Design, where we mainly trained in acting for Film and TV, and I also trained in vocal performance. My experience in musical theater productions, vocal training, and passion for music gives me the ability to also teach singing (mainly for younger children and beginning adults who want to find their voices). I've continued my own vocal training even after my MFA graduation in 2020 with the Nikki Maas Music studio, where we specialize in belting training for musical theater as well as pop-style music. I'm well versed in audition technique (because it is a SKILL that needs to be taught and developed, but it is not covered in the acting curriculum as much as it should be), how to record and create self-tapes, how to build your resume, and how to build your brand and network. Music and singing is a deep passion of mine, and I love teaching people who want to pursue the same passion as me. I have experience teaching the ages of around 5-6 years all the way up to high school age, as I was a mentor and counselor at a performing arts summer camp for 4-5 years in Atlanta, GA. I love teaching kids, but I'm open to teaching adults as well.

Learn from a multilingual Concert Pianist - expert in online teaching and child psychology

I have been teaching piano and singing for the last 25 years. My forte lies finding approach for every learning style, adjusting to each individual student, and going at the student's pace. I have a specially designed program for capturing attention of a student as young as 5 years old, and for my advanced students I implement a curriculum guiding students through advanced piano techniques, fostering repertoire development, sight-reading skills, and creating a framework for healthy practice routines. Originally from Soviet Union (Kazakhstan), my piano journey began at a young age of 5, culminating in a Masters degree in Piano Performance within the Soviet Union's esteemed education system. Seeking further knowledge, I studied under renowned British pianist Graham Fitch at the University of Cape Town, South Africa and delved into Jazz Piano and Jazz Harmony with mentor jazz pianist Jose (Chepe) Gonzalez in Central America. Holding a professional diploma in Child Psychology, I bring a holistic approach to my teaching. My relocation to Costa Rica marked the blossoming of my career as a concert pianist, fueled by a passion for imparting wisdom through teaching. With over two decades of teaching experience, I conduct lessons in English, Russian, or Spanish, drawing upon my multifaceted international expertise in music and child psychology.
