Yumna Batool
Triangle, VA

An EMC Certified Data Analyst with extensive programming experience spanning 6 years.

I started studying Data Science in 2013 during MS in Computer Science. I was so attracted to data science that explaining its concepts became my passion. Since then, I have been teaching it. I wanted to teach the advancements of this field to the students yearning to learn it. Explaining the concepts of Data Science to beginners gives me the utmost satisfaction. My ability to explain complex concepts was first acknowledged when I explained my Final-Year-Project to an interviewer at the career expo during Bachelor. I was the only student selected by an organization because they loved my way of explaining the project. Since then, I have been teaching AI concepts to my peers. In 2013, I taught AI to a group of students who opted for the same FYP idea that I had chosen. I was overwhelmed to teach them optical flow, motion trajectories, expectation maximization and similar other concepts. I visited them regularly and also taught them coding of these algorithms. In 2015, I went to Thailand to conduct a one-week workshop at Software Park, Phuket. It was an extraordinary experience for me. I extremely enjoyed teaching the Data Lifecycle concepts to a class of 25 practitioners. I interacted with every student in the classroom and helped them individually to code the algorithms I taught. These events have helped me choose data science teaching for my career goal. I have been working in this field for more than 6 years now. But my ultimate career objective is to become a Data Science trainer.
