My academic journey at one of the premier institutions for engineering has equipped me with a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and their real-world applications. My rigorous curriculum at Georgia Tech has given me a strong foundation in various branches of mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. I have successfully applied these principles to solve complex engineering problems, showcasing a practical understanding of mathematical theories. I understand that every student has a unique learning style and pace. Through my own academic journey, I have developed the ability to adapt my teaching methods to cater to individual needs. I understand how difficult it can be when subjects challenge you because I have felt the same. But through this struggle I have learned many amazing ways to enjoy learning math and improve my skills. Whether you are a visual learner, a hands-on learner, or prefer a theoretical approach, I can tailor my tutoring sessions to suit your preferences. Engineering education at Georgia Tech emphasizes problem-solving, and I have honed my analytical and critical thinking skills through numerous challenging projects and assignments. I am well-equipped to guide students in developing these essential skills, not only for academic success but also for future career endeavors. Since elementary school I have always had a passion for building upon my own knowledge and challenging myself. Whether that be through watching National Geographic to learn about the world, reading books to understand how I can get ahead in life, executing the advice from self-improvement journals, or solving random problems on the internet. This passion for learning and understanding directly reflects how I felt in the past and how I feel now about math and the sciences. Throughout school, up until High school, I have always played the catch-up game. I was not the smartest, but I consistently learned from my mistakes and over time I eventually got to where I needed to be. During junior and senior year of high school I had achieved straight A’s in all AP and honors STEM classes I took those years and this allowed me to get academic scholarships in college. In the SAT, I also got a score above 700 in the math section, which placed me in the 95 percentiles that year for all SAT takers. In high school I had participated heavily in extracurricular sports, and I spent many hours tutoring my fellow teammates in both math and biology. With a global study abroad experience too and my multicultural perspective I am an excellect fit for bridging the gap between learners speaking English as a second language seeking understanding in their coursework. I can empathize, as I have voluntarily tutoring dozens of students in South Korea just this year. I have an extensive background in tutoring pre-med students at my university, FSU, in algebra, pre-calc, biology, and even English. I currently am learning Mandarin, and Japanese, and involved in the Asian American Student Association, serving as a mentor for international students from Germany and South Korea, as well as on the USStride Pre-medical association, where I foster community.
