Master's degree holder, enthusiastic tutor

I have a master's degree in International Affairs, which means I'm an expert in how governments work within their own country and how they interact with each other around the world. I've studied several governmental systems extensively, and am looking to work in the US government, so I know a lot about how it all works. Understanding our rights as citizens and how our government works is so important to how we go about our lives as adults. We need to understand how to vote for people that represent our interests, how to laws get passed, how justice is served, how countries work, and what being a citizen of a country means. I have extensive experience with this, and can't wait to pass on my knowledge. I graduated college with degrees in government and politics with latin honors, which means I got almost all A's, the worst being a B+. I know what a good essay looks like, and have lots of historical knowledge, which is the foundation of this subject. I also passed the AP US History exam in high school, so I know how to study for big tests like that. I've tutored and taught students on various subjects cumulatively for close to 8 years. I like to learn different students' learning styles, and tailor how I teach to how they learn best. It's important for a teacher to engage with students in the way that makes sense to them, to make sure everyone can understand. Standardized education mostly only teaches according to one learning style, so as a tutor, I make it my goal to be able to teach to all different learning styles.

Historian/Writer/Lecturer

My work in American History connects considerably with the study of American Government and Politics. My education background includes a Legal Studies minor as an undergraduate and although I earned both my bachelor's degree and master's degree in American History, my academic work (while an undergrad, a grad student, and as a professor since) intersects with Political Science, Law, and political/legal theory considerably. In 2023, McFarland Press published my book, which is about the history of the United States Supreme Court. For a successful work of history of this kind to be published by a traditional publishing house with its own decades-long legacy, the work must prove to possess high academic merit, scholarly sources, original insights, and be able to address matters related to the construction, workings, and controversies related to the operations of American governance. Not only was this book published by a well-established publisher, but it also received high praise from notable historians, legal historians, legal scholars, and political scientists. Because of my background, I am able to teach and tutor Government and Politics because I understand the history relating to the practical workings of government (executive, legislative, and judicial), the philosophies that informed it, the constitutional framework which undergirds it, and the various controversies over the centuries that have influenced its progress and adaption over time.
