I'm a sophomore studying industrial engineering and have always been told I have great people skills. I have studied calculus 1, 2, and 3, and linear algebra at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am also proficient in high school geometry, algebra, and pre-calculus. My teaching assistants have always been a huge help for me and I would love to do the same for others. I keep up with my skills as I use math in many of my other classes.
A lover of math since grade school, I have been tutoring Geometry for over 6 years. I have been a math teacher since 2001. I love Geometry and teach it frequently. I visualize graphs, proofs, and angles with clarity and good lessons. I am very clear and understanding. I oftyen ask, "can you show me an example?" "Why is this expression solved this way?" to get participation and engagement.
I have had about 2 years experience tutoring students in the Geometry questions of the ACT. Whether the questions are about parallel lines with a transversal cutting them into various types of angles, the Pythagorean Theorem to find the sides of triangles, the equation of a circle, or similar vs. congruent shapes and their sides or angles, I am able to guide my students to the correct answers. Geometry requires more visual skills, and I am able to tap into those strengths of most students by showing them how a concept works. However, all of these concepts are also based on logic, hence the use of proofs in many of these classes. If a student understands the logic better than the visual, I can guide them to understand the concepts that way. This subject now paves the way for me to help all of my students from Prealgebra through Calculus!

From a young age, I have always been passionate about Mathematics, especially Geometry. In fact, I wrote my college essay on the many ways I use Geometry in my daily life. It was my favorite subject all through middle and high school. I love solving problems and analyzing shapes. In high school, I earned A's in all my math classes and scored well on my exams. I have finished studying Geometry in school and have had 2 years experience in teaching the subject to freshman and sophomores in high school. I find it super fun and magical to teach math is a universal language that applies to all things in nature and in music and everything that is creative used in everyday life I love teaching math and I love seeing the connections students have with it as they excel in their studies and their academic goal students may find an appreciation and a unique understanding for a different language that exist amongst everyone.
