I am passionate about English. In high school, it was my favorite subject and I tested above average in my college entrance exams. Although I am not an avid reader, I love literature and enjoy reading about history which coupled with my experience as a tutor has helped me hone my skills and delivery. My approach to teaching is largely based on eliminating the pedantic perspective that limits new learners to a needlessly formal and dull tone both in conversation and writing without necessarily considering the intended setting for which their language skills will be put to use. Therefore as most of my students are current college students or recent graduates preparing to further their studies abroad I consider that intended setting and help them prepare to interact in it. It has been a positive experience so far with many students successfully attaining their target scores with a record high score of 8.5 out of a possible 9.0 registered by a past student! I hope to be able to replicate that success on this platform and help clients realize their language dreams.
