Monika WydraDoylestown, PACertified Secondary Education English/ESL/TEFOL teacher and tutor with 10+ years of experience
Hi! Welcome to ELA Writing/Grammar tutoring! I'm glad you're here!
I've developed a passion for English (writing) when I was 16 years old, thanks to my then ESL teacher who within 3 months taught me how to speak English in a way I could comfortably understand my peers and teachers. I moved from Poland to USA in 2000 with my parents, and it was then when English language become my top priority to master in order to succeed in school and college.
I am a graduate student with an English major and specialization in Secondary Education (grades 7-12 and beyond). I homeschooled students from 5th to 8th grade in English Grammar, reading and writing, but my expertise is mostly in ELA Writing and Grammar. I student-taught at a Catholic elementary school for 1 year.
I was an English tutor at Delaware Valley University for 4 years and helped students from brainstorming sessions, drafting their essays, researching, to proofreading finished drafts, as well as, graduate thesis and dissertation projects. I taught students simple skills like note-taking and together we build up the skills to independently write beyond a 5 paragraph essays. I'm skilled with writing in both APA and MLA formats for your essays. I'm very detail oriented, I not only read through your papers, but also correct your grammar, add punctuation where needed, try to eliminate run-on sentences and allow students to become familiar with transition words.
I am here for all of your ELA Writing and Grammar needs. I know writing papers can make you anxious- but please don't be. By breaking a huge assignment into smaller chunks and working on it gradually, you'll be glad you got your tutoring session with me! I wish you well and I hope that you'll reach out to me if and when you need help :) .
