My youngest children are twins who are currently college sophomores at two different universities. They applied to a combined total of 20 colleges/universities and both were accepted to their top choice. My twins are very different - my daughter graduated third in her class, held numerous leadership roles in clubs/organizations, was an NHS member, musical and theatrical performer and an exceptional student. My son was a B / C student, was an exceptional athlete and a great kid, who had to work much harder to achieve good grades. I believe strongly that "C" students have just as much to offer as "A" students, but your college application essay must convey who you are effectively, so that reviewers recognize your effort and contributions, and not just your GPA.
