My upbringing in the United States and native-level proficiency in English make me a good fit for tutoring a native speaker of English in Chinese as I understand the struggles they may face from their point of view. Chinese and English are such uniquely different languages, and having an intricate understanding of the inner workings and cultural background of both is necessary for one to learn Chinese well.
