Angel OrijuelaCastillejos, Zambales, PhilippinesNational Arbiter / National Trainer
I started playing chess when I was 5 years old and started competing in tournaments at the age of 6 and I became the champion in our zone and a placer in the whole province.
I started teaching chess when I was young. I have been teaching my teammates and other schoolmates who are eager to learn chess more, even though it's free. I am very passionate about chess, so I use it in almost all my activities in life. Like in schools, I am using chess to enter a school, and I started earning money in chess, not just in allowances, when my coach, a FIDE master, offered me to tutor his students and give me money by teaching them. I know that its not that big but it can help me to buy what I want like foods, for transportation allowance, and etc. Now that I've already graduated, he's giving other teammates the chance to earn money by teaching other students who want to learn, and for me, right now, I'm finding a job in chess and also in my major to gain experience and to continue my passion.
I am also a FIDE recognize National Arbiter and soon to be a FIDE arbiter when I completed the tournaments that has a FIDE Arbiter norm.
I am eager and excited about teaching because I believe I can inspire students to actively engage in the lesson and learn new things, as well as to create new understandings and meanings.
