I graduated Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, cum laude at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, and also Master of Sciences in Chemistry at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. I’d been teaching general chemistry and university chemistry, organic chemistry, environmental chemistry, pollution chemistry, pesticide chemistry, biochemistry courses at the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) for 14 years. I also taught high school chemistry and algebra in the Maquiling School, Inc. for a year. I have been involved in tutoring chemistry, algebra, English as second language and Tagalog passionately and patiently for almost two decades, where I gained positive feedback from students and their parents. I teach my students to learn from the heart.
I became the Head of Smart-Functional Biomaterials Research Laboratory. I have published 37 chemistry-related research papers in international and national journals and conference proceedings. My research projects focused on agricultural chemistry, agriculture, weed chemistry, allelopathy, natural products chemistry, organic chemistry, environmental chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, pesticide chemistry, and nanotechnology. I have also been a journal article reviewer of international and refereed journals. I have been involved in revising chemistry laboratory manuals and wrote a worktext on chemistry of agricultural chemicals.
I was awarded the 2018 Outstanding Researcher (Junior Category), College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Baños, 2016 Outstanding Junior Faculty, College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Baños, and Best Paper Award, Weed Science Society of the Philippines (WSSP) Category in the 44th Pest Management Council of the Philippines Annual Conference.
I am a lifetime member of Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas and member of UPLB Natural Products Research.
