I have tutored several students in Calculus 1, AP Calculus AB, and College-level Calculus.
When working with students, I ask them to share the concepts they have trouble understanding. I use follow-up questions to uncover the source of the misunderstanding so we can start clarifying the content at the source. During lessons, I first model concepts through an example. Then, I guide a student through solving some examples. Finally, I give the student some examples to solve independently.
In one instance, I helped one of my students increase their average Calculus exam scores by 10%.
I believe every student has the potential inside of them to make a real difference in the world. I am convinced that the purpose of teaching, and more broadly, education, is to draw out the potential from within - in every student.
