Hania HinojosaLos Angeles, CACollege Graduate, Virtual Tutor
I obtained a bachelor's degree in Spanish at the California State University of Long Beach. While attending university, I participated in events for my Spanish classes like Day of the Dead, and Mexico's Independence Day. I studied Spanish for 5 years, and my native language is actually Spanish. I speak this language at home daily.
Additionally, I have volunteered for JC Life Skills Academy where I tutored students in Spanish for 6 months. We would meet virtually through zoom, in a group of three students that are in middle school/high school level. Additionally, we focused on grammar, speaking, listening, writing, and pronunciation. Another program I volunteered for was Orange Note, Inc. where I tutored a group of students in Spanish. This was more of a workshop class, so I taught the class for about 6 weeks. We focused on topics like greetings in Spanish or time in Spanish, etc. Also, I'm currently still volunteering for this program and hope to teach again in the summer.
