John Louise EmlanoCagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, PhilippinesSpecial Science Teacher/Biology/Chemistry/Researcher
I have always been fascinated by the natural world. That childish fascination has not left me but deepened over the years. This interest has led me to my love of biology, ecology, animal behavior and evolution. I once dreamed of being a medical doctor but later I’ve realized that I have this passion to educate other people about biology.
I was a former Department of Science and Technology scholar. I am currently working as a Special Science Teacher at Department of Education in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines 9000. In this position I am responsible for handling Senior High School Subjects such as Earth and Life Science, Probability and Statistics, General Chemistry 1, Organization and Management, and Applied Economics. I have completed my bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Sciences studies at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan. I also obtained my master’s degree in Chemistry Education at University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines.
I would describe myself as someone who is education oriented. The components that were discussed during my studies closely match the skills required for this position. As an Education student, majoring in Biological Sciences, I’ve become equipped with the necessary knowledge that come with the position including principles of biology, chemistry principles, biotechnology, proper laboratory and field procedures, effective communication, management, time management, leadership and collaboration skills. I would like to put these characteristics to use within your organization. Given my education at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, as well as my master’s degree in chemistry education I am perfect for this position.
