Hi! I recently retired from a 33-year career teaching third and fourth graders in a self-contained classroom. The skills I have acquired have enabled me to promote effective learning strategies to div... erse groups of students. I am well-organized and respond positively to any academic challenges that young people may face. My students enjoy working with me because I am caring, patient, and friendly. I smile a lot and have a good sense of humor. As one of my former students wrote to me in an end-of-the-year letter of appreciation, “I loved how you can make lessons fun just by being so funny.” I also have a lot of tutoring experience. I have met students at my local library and have helped them improve their grades and gain academic confidence. I am available for in-person tutoring, full-time homeschooling or online tutoring in all subjects. I know many methods for helping students learn their multiplication tables, fractions, and geometry concepts. For example, did you know that there are four fun ways to learn the nines tables? I have a Master’s Degree in Developmental and Remedial Reading. My students have learned how to construct strong five-paragraph narrative, informational, and persuasive essays.
