I've been teaching for 35 years, mostly two 11th graders,

but also ninth, 10th, and 12th graders.

So I've been working in English language arts for a long time and I've been

tutoring students for a lot of those years as well.

Most of my tutoring has been with, uh,

college essay writing and personal statement writing as well as in the

verbals AT. However,

I have also done a lot of tutoring in other types of writing.

Basically all types of writing, whether it's creative writing,

writing about poetry, research papers, uh,

persuasive essays, narrative essays, descriptive, reflective, uh,

DB qss, short and long form. Um,

I've done a lot of work with a lot of different levels of students and

I've created a lot of materials to help those students maybe settle on a

topic or maybe revise or reorganize their writing.

And I really love words.

I consider myself after 35 years a word expert and an essay

expert.

And probably the reason I like college essay tutoring so much

is because those are essays that are different from every other essay you've

ever been taught to write in high school, right? There's no introduction,

there's no conclusion, there's no thesis.

And so I kind of enjoy helping students understand what the purpose of their

writing is with those kinds of essays. But like I said,

I've done a lot of teaching of synthesis writing and persuasive writing and

how to cite something in research and how to find a reliable source.
