Hey there, I'm Steve! I'm an Atlanta-born, Pittsburgh-raised professional tutor and language enthusiast! I started tutoring when I attended CCAC for part of my undergraduate studies and the Honors pr... ogram was offering an accredited Peer Service Tutoring program. In this program, I worked with an English professor for the semester to assist his students with their essays. I would literally sit at a desk during the professor's lecture, and during his assigned group work periods, I would make my rounds around the room and work with students to brainstorm ideas and think more critically about their own writing. After that, I became a tutor for Pittsburgh Promise's Extension Into Scholar Initiative, which is a partnership with CCAC to help prepare new college students for the more demanding nature of college classes. In this position, I meet weekly with students to help them with whichever subject they want to work on, and I review their progress throughout the semester to ensure they stay on track. As for my passions outside of tutoring, I am a huge animal lover. I have 2 black cats, Pickle and Moses, and they are the absolute best. I also have a huge passion for learning.
