Beyond my own applications, I have extensive writing experience as the Editor-in-Chief of my high school newspaper, where I honed my ability to craft engaging narratives and mentor younger writers. My writing has been recognized at the highest levels, including being named one of ten Missouri All-State Journalism Team members by the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA). I also won first place in National Student Press Association (NSPA) competitions for both a Newsmagazine Cover and a Staff Editorial, along with top honors in sports reporting and news writing. I’m currently a student in UMKC’s 6-year B.A./M.D. program, but beyond medicine, I have a deep love for writing and storytelling. I grew up in Missouri, where I spent much of my time reading, writing,... and exploring ways to communicate complex ideas in a way that resonates with others.
