About
I’m currently a student in UMKC’s 6-year B.A./M.D. program, but beyond medicine, I have a deep love for writing and storytelling. I grew up in Missouri, where I spent much of my time reading, writing,... and exploring ways to communicate complex ideas in a way that resonates with others. My passion for writing has led me to journalism, where I served as Editor-in-Chief of my high school newspaper and won multiple state and national awards for my work. In the future, I hope to merge my interests in medicine and communication through medical journalism.
Tutoring is something I enjoy because it allows me to help others express themselves in a way that feels authentic and meaningful. Whether it’s through math tutoring at Mathnasium or helping peers craft compelling essays, I love seeing students gain confidence in their abilities. My tutoring philosophy is centered around the idea that every student has a unique voice and perspective—my role is to help bring that out while providing structure and clarity to their writing.
What makes me “me” is my curiosity and drive to connect ideas across different fields. I believe that strong writing isn’t just about grammar or structure—it’s about telling a story that reflects who you are. That’s what I hope to help students achieve: essays that go beyond answering a prompt to truly showcase their personality, values, and aspirations.read more
