I grew up learning to play by ear in church and eventually I made it Music School I got my BA from Brooklyn College in Music, now I’m pursuing my master's in music education. I play mostly in church... these days. For Piano I teach mostly beginner and intermediate, Guitar the same also I like to teach a blend of playing by ear, a lil bit of reading and a little bit of theory, it all depends on what the goals of students are. I never really understood music theory and sight reading growing up so I know what it’s like to have that uphill battle to be a better musician. I wasn’t the fastest learner growing up, so I had to teach myself to make music theory and sight reading easier, by breaking it down into simplistic ideas. I’m not going to sugar coat anything it’s pretty simple, if you want to get better you got to practice and not just mindless hours of noodling, that can come later on, but in the beginning, you have to tackle a few key foundation areas that will make everything easier later on.
