About
Hi! My name is Manuel Manzo, but I also go by Manny. I was born and raised in Oakland, CA. However, I am currently residing in Rohnert Park, CA as I am a student at Sonoma State University. My hobbies... would have to do with animals, understanding them, and also having a chance to be very social with my fellow peers and colleagues, and the chance to explore our world and our community. My passions are being an educator, but also being a support guide. I, myself had a lot of troubles navigating the curriculum within my K-12 experiences. I want to be able to, as a teacher guide students to their best ability and allow myself to be a great mentor and resource for my students to have. What I love about tutoring is that there is no judgment. Where in a classroom, you may feel excluded and isolated on what you know versus what you don't know. Tutoring gives students the chance to become their own leader and their own voice, an be able to build that strive up. Tutoring gives students a sense of compassion as it gives teachers or educators a chance to get closer to their students, and how we can better divulge into the subject that we may need some more assistance with. In tutoring, it is okay to give the wrong answer, because without failure we will never have a chance improve what we know. What makes me, me. Is with me being a first-generation Chicano student to enter college, I know the struggles of what it is like for some to struggle with school, as when you resort to your parents sometimes they may not even know the right answer. Which sets another connotation in our heads of, "can we do this?". I am able to pick students up, where they fall because I was in their place and made it a point through my teaching career to be able to in turn make sure ALL my students trust me and they are secure and confident in their answers. I am hard working and dedicated to making sure whoever I am tutoring gets the most out of their learning and is able to find more within themselves.read more
