About
Hi! My name is Lisa and I've been a writer of poems and short stories all my life. I graduated from Goddard College in Vermont with my MFA in Creative Writing and I went on to complete a second Master... s in Transformative Language Arts, a modality that uses writing as a therapeutic adjunct to move through grief, loss, and life transition.
Through my own writing endeavors I have learned the ability of words to heal. Whether we are writing our own stories, researching for and honing an academic paper, or putting another's story down in words, we grow and know ourselves better through the process.
I am also a home health nurse and my work with two non-profit agencies that serve children and adults with disabilities has been one of the greatest joys of my life. This work has taught me how powerful the art of deep listening is, and that this spacious awareness is the source of both imagination and compassion.
I have facilitated a writing circle for people with cerebral palsy for the past 6 years with Provail's Art is Not an Option program. The members of this circle use light talkers/assistive technology to write and through this amazing group I've grown and learned so much.
My passions are reading and writing poetry, designing and painting mandalas for meditation, chocolate, and my year old dog, Oscar.
I look forward to accompanying you on your writing journey!read more
