About
Hi! I'm Hania Hinojosa who was born in Los Angeles, California, and I'm still currently living there. My first interest while I was in college was art, but I changed majors when I decided that I love ... learning about languages. The thing I love the most about learning languages is knowing the culture through it.
I became interested in teaching through my own experiences. For instance, growing up as a first generation student I struggled a lot in school due to being the oldest and language barrier. However, I had awesome teachers who went beyond and helped me in my schoolwork. I wanted to be that role model and mentor to other students who probably experience the same things as me. I love helping others in finding something that they would like to do or reach a certain goal in life.
Having motivation, consistency, and positive thinking are my tutoring philosophies. I also like to implement fun activities that students can work on and bring useful topics like greetings, times, seasons, etc. Moreover, I like to share the culture from the U.S. for students interested in wanting to study there or work there. As an optimistic person I love to smile or laugh a lot. I also have many hobbies like painting, drawing, weight training, etc. Finally, I was a student once, so I know it is stressful with homework assignments, but I will be the biggest motivator when it comes to tutoring.
I look forward to meeting you! Thank you!read more
